About Phillip H. Darling

I am a sole practitioner at the Law Office of Phillip H. Darling.

I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1983 from the California State University at Long Beach. I obtained my Juris Doctorate degree in 1988 from Southwestern University School of Law, and I was admitted to the Bar the same year. I have been employed in the biomedical field working with disposable cardiosurgery equipment, and as a design engineer for Parker Hannifin. From 1988 through 1997, I worked as an attorney with the firms of Chase, Rotchford, Drukker and Bogust, and Hill, Genson, Even, Crandall and Wade, as a litigator. In 1999, I started my own sole practice specializing in estate planning, probate, and trust administration, which I continue to the present. I handle a wide variety of additional matters including conservatorships and guardianships, with other matters accepted on a case-by-case basis.

I counsel clients regarding the preparation and use of trusts, wills, health care directives, and powers of attorney for estate planning for single persons and married couples. In addition, I counsel trustees,executors, and agents (acting under health care directives and powers of attorney), after the death or incapacity of other persons. My prior litigation experience involved hundreds of personal injury, product liability, and construction defect matters, in addition to insurance bad faith and SIU cases. Over the years, I have been actively involved in the community, serving as a Director on a number of non-profit boards, as a Director and Chairman on the Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce, and, previously, as a elected Director on the board of the Bear Valley Community Services District.
